Open Access, Fast Track, Fees
From 1 May 2016 Acta Acustica united with Acustica changes its subscription-based publishing model to a hybrid publishing model with an alternative paid open access publication option for authors.
The journal is published both in print and online.
Acta Acustica united with Acustica offers authors the following routes of publication:
(i) Subscription Article, whereby an article is accessible to individuals or institutions subscribing to the journal, or by pay-per-view. There are no costs involved for the author (except for a possible colour-charge for the print version).
(ii) Open Access Article, whereby an article (Research Paper or short Fast Track Article) is freely available online both to subscribers and non-subscribers. For this publication route, an Article Publication Charge (APC) or a fast track fee applies.
Open Access Publication Option for Research Papers, Fast Track Article & Fees
i) Open Access publication option for research papers:
Authors may choose this option, if they wish to have their accepted manuscripts published open access immediately upon publication without any embargo period. Open access might be a requirement of their institutions or research funders, allowing also non-subscribers of the journal to access an article free-of-charge.
For this option, authors, their institutions or their research funders are required to pay an Article Publication Charge (APC) of EUR 1200 (plus VAT, if applicable). Receipt of payment is a prerequisite of publishing the article open access immediately upon publication of the respective issue.
All articles are subject to thorough, independent peer-review. Authors will only be asked upon acceptance of their research papers, if they wish to make use of the open access publication option. Thus the reviewing and decision process is independent of whether or not an author will make use of this option, because editors and reviewers are not aware of the author’s intention.
ii) Fast Track Article:
Fast Track Article is a new article type, which stands for fast peer-review, fast production of accepted manuscripts and immediate open access publication.
It is for short scientific papers (max. 4 pages) characterized by their concision and originality. The objective is to publish the paper online within 2 months from submission.
For this option, authors, their institutions or their research funders are required to pay a fast track fee of EUR 350 (plus VAT, if applicable). Receipt of payment is a prerequisite of publishing the article fast track open access. All information will be given to the authors during the submission process on Editorial Manager.
